  3. As you listen to YouTube....as Jim Graham explains that collies actually have the highest "bite record", you'll hear Leslie LaCorte answering that if Collies are raised right---in the right home, they don't bite. Does that not pertain to any dog??? I have no pets, but the unfairness of it all is what is so disturbing to me.

  4. I suggest that Leslie LaCorte and others read Pit Bull Placebo.
    It`s available for free

There is no National Bite Registry in the U.S. so no one knows what dogs are biting but they can all bite.

Fatalities by ANY Breed are rare.
And as Karen Delise has pointed out there is no dog bite epidemic.

    http://nationalcanineresearchcouncil.com/dog-bites/
"The Myth of the Dog Bite Epidemic:

The definition of epidemic is: extremely prevalent; widespread, or a rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something.

There is no national system in the United States for tallying reports of dog bites. The often-repeated numbers that inspired some to declare a dog bite “epidemic” were estimated on the basis of a telephone survey conducted in 1994. From among the 5,328 persons who responded to this survey, interviewers obtained reports of 196 dog bites within the previous 12 months. (Only 38 of those sought medical attention).*

Alarmists quote the numbers extrapolated from this 14-year-old telephone survey as evidence that dogs are a growing threat. However, communities across the country report the good, less publicized news that actual (not estimated) reports of dog bites are decreasing, and have been for years."

And I suspect I know what Jackie Thompson(and perhaps Leslie Lacorte) will say next...but 'pit bull bites are different.

Do Certain Breeds of Dogs Inflict Injuries Different from Other Breeds?

    http://nationalcanineresearchcouncil.com/dog-bites/types-of-dog-bites/dog-bites-injuries/

"No breed or type of dog has a particular method of attack or inflicts an exclusive type of injury. Claims that one breed of dog inflicts injuries unlike other breeds have no merit."

  5. Yes, I DID HEAR Council woman Lacorte's comments on youtube regarding "raising a dog right". If that's what Council woman Lacorte believes then why did she vote "YES"" for the pit bull ban last year?
I believe this change in opinion means she has been educated on this issue, or she is "waffling".
